On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, The Dare to Love Project hosted it's 3rd Annual Seattle Children's Hospital Outreach with a Free Family Holiday Event for the community at our hospitality base in Tumwater, WA.
The day was FULL of smiles (and more than a few hilarious expressions from Henry, our therapy dog in-training).
Several joyful individuals, of all ages, took the time to create cards for the precious kids who will have to spend this holiday season in a hospital room.
Our hope is that when they receive a card, these young, bright souls will be encouraged and believe that they have a friend (including the big, white, fluffy kind!) who cares about them.
Each guest who came was able to take home a delicious bar of chocolate, generously donated by Theo Chocolate (a local confection company based in Seattle!).
What a treat it was (pun intended!) to witness so much love ♥
In October we hosted a Socktober campaign, partnering with Olympia's Family Support Center (FSCSS) to keep toes toasty by collecting socks for local families currently enduring hardship.
The FSCSS serves families experiencing homelessness, those at risk of losing their home or who cannot pay rent, as well as those struggling to make ends meet.
Our campaign was a great success! Encouraged by those still wanting to give, we decided to extend our deadline into the first week of November!
If you would still like like to participate, you have the opportunity to do so until next Thursday, November 9th.
On Friday morning, we will do a final count and take the donations downtown to the Family Support Center's headquarters!
Thank you to everyone who has chosen to dare to love in this simple, yet meaningful, way!
